LOWER YOUR TAXES & SUPPORT OUR STUDENTS

Take advantage of the Tax Credit Law --- Arizona tax law (ARS §43-1089.01) allows taxpayers a tax credit if they contribute to extracurricular activities in public high schools. The allowable tax credit limits are as follows:

•$200 for a single individual or head of household
•$400 for a married couple filing a joint return

A tax credit is a dollar-for-dollar deduction in the actual tax owed. (A regular deduction only allows you to subtract the contribution from your taxable income)

Who is eligible?

This tax credit is available to all Arizona individual taxpayers regardless of whether they have children in school.

(Please note: This credit can only be claimed on individual tax returns. Contributions from businesses are surely welcome and are deductible, but cannot be claimed as a credit)

What is an extracurricular activity?

Extracurricular activity means any optional, non-credit educational or recreational activity that supplements the education program of the school.

Where does the money go?

You may indicate which school and which program(s) you would like to support – or you can designate your money to be given to the school or program that has the greatest need. The amount of donation you make does not have to be for the maximum allowable – you can make a difference in our schools with even $50, $75, or $100. Contributions must be made by December 31st to take advantage of the tax credit this year.
